| PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE SUBMITTING WORK Our goal is to showcase art in the photo editing medium- from HDR to Artistic- and provide a forum for useful feedback and instruction for those who wish to get the best out of their photos. We will endeavor to not only do this with gallery submissions, but use the journal/blog structure to showcase individual galleries, links to articles, discuss techniques and submit and review resources for all things related to the medium. We would like our members to have the opportunity to provide content to the group. This will not be a group that caters to the elite, or to our friends. We will welcome all levels of expertise. Oh ... and did I mention contests? Yep we’ll have them too. Standards: Edit must show some form of talent and/or artistic justification. We’d like to see more than simple photo settings like: changing a colour image to black & white or basic correction (saturation, hue, curves, redeye, cropping, applying a light texture, etc.) However- if these things are done and produce a stunning effect ... we’ll make exceptions. Edit must be of a single image. Incorporation of other images takes you into the territory of photo manipulation, and will not be accepted into this gallery. Exceptions made in the case of HDR and panoramic images. While we truly don’t wish to do so ... we will decline pieces occasionally. We will make every effort to comment when we can. Rules: Three (3) submissions per day, per member. One Fave Suggestion per day, per member. (May change, based on number of members and submission traffic) Original image must be your own, or from a VERIFIABLE stock provider Provide a credit, and a link/thumb to the original image (not just the provider). If it’s yours; credit it as such. You MUST to provide a BRIEF description of the edit ( we are trying to share, teach and learn here after all) MUST comply with the rules of the stock provider Mature content MUST be classified as such Use of patterns, textures and brushes are allowed, provided they are used to enhance the image, and not replace parts of the image. All patterns, textures and brushes must be credited, linked and follow the same general rules as image usage. Watermarks: Submissions may have your own personal watermarks added provided they do not obscure the the body of your work. SUBMISSIONS WITH DA'S LARGE WATERMARK THAT IS IN THE CENTRE OF THE IMAGE WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. Please try to submit to the proper gallery folder. If you are not sure which to use- view the “Faves”, there is a fairly diverse selection to compare by. New categories: Macro/Closeups Landscape/Waterscape Night Scenes Black & White Panoramic Images Some submissions may fall into more than one gallery class and if deemed appropriate the staff may add a piece of work to other galleries thereby having it appear in more than one gallery. The Artistic gallery rules will be a little different, submissions here must be of a true artistic nature, examples would be fractals from a photo, photo paintings and others along those lines; most everything else that used to be in this gallery will be referred to the Enhancement gallery. If placed in the wrong gallery we will try to move it to the appropriate gallery and inform you of the move so that in future it can help you submit to the proper gallery. It will take some time to become used to the changes but together we will get through it . |
